Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

16 Week Ultrasound

16 Week Ultrasound: Wow! There's Really A Baby In There!

I've been keeping track of the baby's development in one of my pregnancy books, but I was shocked to see how well developed she is (yes - it's a she!). At 16 weeks, she's already sucking her thumb, arching her back, hicupping, and moving her little arms and legs. She looks like a real baby already. It's astounding!

16 Week Profile:

My hubby was especially blown away by the sonogram. He didn't know anything about the baby's development because he banned me from talking about it around him. He was just trying to pretend he didn't care in case there was something wrong. He was thinking we would see a semi-human looking glob. Far from it!! Now that we know the baby is viable and has developed normally, he's really getting excited.

How crazy is this! We actually went to Fry's Electronics to buy a machine to turn our ultrasound video into a DVD so we could capture our own still shots. The machine was 300 bucks, but we returned it later that week so really it was free. Unethical, I know. What can I say? We had to get more pictures of our darling girl!

Five Little Fingers:

This is an annotated shot of her hand. Surprisingly her fingers are curled exactly the same way I used to curl my fingers to suck my thumb!

Through a Looking Glass:

Shocking huh? Imaging lying her on a glass table top and peering from underneeth. Now you can see her upper body and lower face (and one hand). The doctor was checking for a cleft palet/lip and found that everything is beautiful!

LOL about buying something at Fry's and planning on returning it later. We do that all the time...

Good luck with the pregnancy, btdt a couple times but both of ours are boys (sighs), girls stuff is MUCH cuter.
