Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

Hell Yeah!!

We had a regular doctor's appointment this morning. After yesterday's disappointing and frustrating visit to Labor & Delivery, where the incompetent nurse told me that I not only was I not dilated, I was barely 25% effaced and the baby was so far up that she couldn't even feel it, we had our regular doctor check me.

I am proud to announce that I'm now 75% effaced, 1 centimeter dilated, and the baby is at station 2! Haa!!! Take that you incompetent nurse!! I knew those contractions had to be doing something! The doctor said that they were labor contractions not Braxton hicks and she was surprised that they didn't hurt. She also said we didn't have to go back to Labor and Delivery until they really start hurting. She's confident that baby handles the contractions really well.

The doctor also said we have a 50% chance of having the baby before our induction appointment on February 7th. So, it really can be any day now!

I'm soooooooooooo excited!

Sounds like there are bunches of incompetent nurses out there, eh? :) Congrats on the effacement and dilation!! I can't wait until my appt. tomorrow to see what our doctor says (screw the incompetent nurse who had "short fingers" last night... I don't believe a word she said).
