I finally got my quote - at 10:45pm! I didn't check my email until the next day. The quote is about 4 grand more than I expected, but overall, not bad. Basically, it's 20K for a 10kW solar system that includes everything except the installation. And they use Spectrolab's 40% efficient cells (same company that makes solar cells for the moon robots) with a lenses that concentrates the sun's energy onto the panel. This is exactly what I was looking for and for a very reasonable price. Actually, for a kick-butt price.Consider this... I got a quote from another company and the trackers alone were 19K! Oh, and there was a guy on the news yesterday because his HOA demanded he remove his solar panels because he didn't get prior approval to install them. He paid 14K for a 2kW system and installed it himself. Yeah. I'm getting a good deal!
So, now I just need to settle on the location of my little solar farm. I'm also going to put up a website so that I (and whoever else) can track the progress and output online.
