Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

Wow, Every Pregnancy Really Is Different

I've always heard that every pregnancy is different and it really is true. I weigh about ten pounds less than I did with Lilly and am carrying this baby so high that I can't even wear my third-trimester pants. In fact, some of my stretch marks from last time are so low that that area has not even expanded yet. No wonder I was so much more uncomfortable carrying Lilly.

This time last pregnancy, thirty-seven weeks, I had contractions all the time. In fact, after having them every five minutes for more than 24 hours we went to labor and delivery to make sure Lilly was handling them okay. I barely made it to my induction date of 38 weeks.

This time I expected to dilate earlier and actually have the baby early. So, at 37 weeks have I made any progress towards having this little guy? Nope. I'm still 50% effaced and still not dilated. The further along I get, the less contractions I have - go figure, right? It's very strange. Hubby's theory is that it won't happen until you are so uncomfortable that you can't stand being pregnant for another minute. I haven't reached that point yet. This may be my last pregnancy and I'm just not quite ready for it to end. Of course, I say that during the day, but almost every night I'm ready to have the baby ASAP.

Now, to make matters worse, I have a cold. My last cold (a couple of months ago) lasted 5 weeks and was horribly miserable. I only have a week and five days before my c-section. So, I better get well quickly.

The feeling faint thing is still bothering me and making it difficult to do much that requires standing. My blood pressure is very low (80/50 range) so that's probably not helping.
