Nine Weeks: So far so good.
Thursday, October 09, 2008
I had my second sonogram on Tuesday (to check on the blood pool under the placenta). The baby looks great. It's about 1 inch long now and we could see little arms and legs moving around.
The pool of blood is still there but the volume has not changed, which is good. I'm on two more weeks of "take it easy and no exercise". We'll do another sonogram to check on it again in two weeks.
If that's not good enough news, I'm actually starting to feel human again. Now the Zofran is helping enough that I can get up in the morning, am not feeling horribly sick, and have some ambition for life again. My emotions are still all over the place though.
I usually go to Lilly's preschool about 15 minutes before she gets out to chitchat with the other moms. As soon as they asked me how I was, I burst into tears and blurted out, "I feel like I cheated on Lilly by having another baby". It was nice to hear their reassuring stories about how they felt during their second pregnancies. I'm feeling better about it now.
I think this baby is a boy. I'd like another girl, but I'm sure boys are wonderful too. Right?

Wow 9 weeks already! I'm glad to hear all is well with the baby. Sorry to hear you've been finding it very emotional. Take good care of yourself - am thinking of you!
