Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

Cold Weather: February is Closer than I Realized

Eeek! It finally got cold here in Dallas. Last night it was 30-some degrees outside and I almost resorted to turning the heat on. Instead, I curled up in my new fuzzy housecoat, which I bought for trips to and from my prenatal water-fitness class. The class is at the hospital's outdoor pool (heated to a wonderful 88-92 degrees) and they don't really have changing facilities. So, everyone just wears a fluffy robe when it's cold.

Back to the cold weather... When it was in the 90's (until yesterday), the whole labor and delivery thing seemed to be in the distant future. After all, baby is due in February. But now that it's FREEZING cold, all of the sudden February isn't far away!

I started flipping though the prenatal packet that the doctor gave us on our first visit and saw that I should have registered for childbirth classes weeks ago!!! So, I just called the hospital and signed up for the December 6 - January 17th class. The class includes child birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and infant CPR classes. It sounds comprehensive - and scary! I can't believe I have to do this!!! I think baby can just stay right here for a long while yet. I'm not nearly uncomfortable enough to want to go through labor to get her out.

I can't think about it yet. I'll go shopping instead.

I hate cold weather. But I hate thinking about labor even more!!

Stay warm!

(I am glad your pool is heated, I swear the pool I go to isn't!)

I'm driving through Dallas in a couple days and HOPING beyond hope that it will be cool. I can't handle another day w/out AC in HOT weather.

I hate cold weather, and yet in Florida it was 43 when I got up. YIKES!

Also, that pic makes it look like she's giving birth to a 3 year old.
