I Am Officially Obsessed
Tuesday, October 18, 2005
Check out the ultrasound pictures on our refrigerator! It's a good thing we have lots of magnetic poetry to hold them all up. I know it - I am officially obsessed.
We forgot the video tape for this morning's 22-week sonogram so I had to stop by the hospital gift shop to see if they had any for sale. They didn't, but thankfully the doctor had some spares on hand (I'll try to remember to give her a replacement next time). Keep in mind, this was my 5th ultrasound! It's not like it was my first and only chance to see the baby. No one really cares except me and, of course, my mom. But that's enough.
Speaking of my mom, she has been begging me to get the sonogram pictures printed at SAMS so they will not degrade. Not only did I print the sonogram pictures that the doctors have given us, but I took still shots of the video and printed those as well. And I got doubles (for mom)! I now have about 20 sonogram pictures. It's probably time to put the 4x6 prints in the baby book. The wallet sized pictures will go in my purse. Yes, I got doubles in two sizes. I guess that means I got quadruples, but Sams Club website said that they pictures should be printed in wallet size, but I wanted 4x6 prints. So, I had to do them both in case one or the other didn't turn out. Sounds logical, right? Besides, their prints are dirt cheap.

I love how cute you are with all the pictures. Your baby will love looking at them when she's older. I know I would have gotten a kick out of something like that (if they would have had them back then).
I am a bad mother and couldn't even tell you where the copies of our ultrasound pictures are. I think that's because the hubby told me to hide them in case someone came over and saw them (remember, we still haven't told people!) - At 8:37 AM, Avorie said...

I just want her to feel loved. I had a VERY rough first trimester so I don't think she got the right vibes. I'm trying to make up for it now.
My mom was the same way with me. Of course, they didn't have sonograms back then, but she did all these little things to make me feel like the sun and moon rose and set with me. Everyone should have someone in their life who loves them like that.
Oh, and you're not a bad mother. My hubby also used to make me take the sonogram pictures down when people came over, but now anyone can take one look at me and it's totally obvious. - At 10:49 AM, Isabel said...

I totally agree that you have to find ways to make the baby feel loved. I like to talk to it. But only when I am sure I am alone. Mostly in the car. I think moments like that are important.
After you told me that you started to feel your baby at 15.5 weeks, I got excited (I'll be 16 weeks this weekend). I can't even believe that I might feel it *soon*!
