Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

House Update

My house has been on the market for almost 5 weeks now. Guess what kind of action I've had? Almost nothing! I've had one open house with 8 visitors and two showings. That's it. I put it on Craig's List about every other day but I haven't had any action from that direction either. My real estate agent, who is really sweet and wonderful, has been out of town for several weeks. We've already lowered the price by 2500 dollars, which is how I got the two showings, but nothing serious.

It may take a while to sale since there are several other houses with the same floor plan for sale. The crime has risen over the past few years so, everyone is trying to get out now. It may be a long wait!

Too bad, because when I first bought it, none of the houses were on the market for longer than 30 days. In fact, it took the real estate agent over a month to remove the sign from my yard and during that time, I had a ton of people stop by and ask to look around.

I can't believe that a beautiful house like that wasn't sold in the first weekend. But don't give up hope. The perfect person will come and snatch it right up.

Good luck.

The same thing happened to us, we put an offer on our house the day it went on the market. Then when we put it up for sale 2 years later it took about a month to get an offer. I don't know if you're living there, but keeping a house in "catalog condition" while living in it (with 2 dogs!) was exhausting!!
