Non-Poison Ivy And House Update
Sunday, November 20, 2005
My house had two showings on Thursday, which resulted in two offers, neither of which were good. The first dude offered me less than 70% of the value of the house. What a joke. We didn't even respond. The second woman offered the full price of the house but wanted me to pay over 7,000 dollars of her closing costs! And her preaproved interest rate is 9.75%! Can we say BAD CREDIT? So, we raised the price of the house by almost 5 grand, thereby giving her a way to roll the costs into her loan and I essentially would loose two grand - which is better than continuing to pay the mortgage, utilities, HOA dues, and such until the next offer comes in. It's a good offer. I just hope that she can be approved for that amount and that the house will appraise that high.
Non-Poison Ivy Update:I spent yesterday covered with Calamine lotion, which the pharmacist said was safer than benedryl tablets. I even got up 4 times last night to re-apply it because my arm was itching like mad and I couldn't sleep.
The result? It looks worse than ever. It's spread again and I've developed two new patches. So, now I'm up to 11 patches, all on my upper body. I called the OB's office, which is closed and decided it wasn't enough of an emergency to page the doctor on call when I hadn't been to the dermatologist like my doctor told me (never mind that it was Friday afternoon and I couldn't get an appointment). So, first thing tomorrow, I'm going to call the dermatologist and get some real drugs (that are baby-safe of course).

The lady that bought our house had a high interest rate, but it was because it was a second home for her (she was using it as investment/rental property). We did the same thing you did. Hope it works out!!
