Who Killed the Electric Car

Hubby and I watch lots of movies through Blockbuster's online rental program. Some of them are crap and a few are good. There's always a lively discussion about who picked the movie if it was a flop.Anyway, last night we watched "Who Killed the Electric Car?". It was great. I can't believe I didn't know anything about electric cars (maybe because I don't live in California). I had heard of electric cars, but thought it was a 1980's fad rather than something that was as recent as the mid to late nineties. The documentary did a great job of discussing the history of the electric car and the bizarre actions of the auto makers in gathering up all electric cars - even from those who loved their cars and didn't want to give them up - and crushing/shredding them for no apparent reason.
After watching "Who Killed the Electric Car", I would totally buy an electric car if they were available today. In fact, I already told Hubby that our next car would be green. On that note - we were discussing how cool it would be to get a Prius and convert it to a plug-in car because the price of electricity is cheaper than gas. And it would just be cool.

Watched "Who Killed the Electric Car" recently (great documentary), then i heard that GM and Tesla are making another run at the electric car (yay for progress!) hopefully development of this technology can go on unhindered by the corporations that depend on oil consumption.
