Still Contemplating

So, we're still contemplating the whole idea of having another baby. Right now we have one amazing toddler and we're both scared to disrupt our family with something bad... We're scared I'll get sick again, that the baby will have genetic problems, or that it will ruin our toddler's life. Crazy I know.
But, we're still looking into it. I'm going to a Geneticist in February. We want to confirm that I have "BOR Syndrome", which is what caused my hearing loss. If I do indeed have it, then we have a 50% chance of having a baby with it. If it turns out like me, then there's no problem. But, what we really want this geneticist to tell us is the chance that we will have a baby with extreme problems (no kidneys or something like that).
I'm also going to talk to my GI doc about another pregnancy. She wouldn't even hear of it until I had been off the steroids for six months. It's been about four months at this point. So far, so good.

Glad to hear you've been off the steorids for so long now! It must be a really hard decision to make for you both and I hope the visits to both the geneticist and the GI doc help make them easier for you in some way. I shall be thinking of you all!
