Road Kill Control?

Who do you call when you have a squashed (and dead) squirrel on the road, outside your house? Aren't you guys glad I spared you a picture (even though I did come straight from photography class)!
When I was little, we called the Animal Control when a blind wild skunk got lost in our back yard. But, who do you call to pick up road kill on residential streets? Surely you don't leave it there to rot - especially in a neighborhood full of children?

I would call the city. Look in the phone book, I'm sure there is a number there. I mean, you can't be the only one with this problem.
