Dermatologist

I finally got in to see the dermatologist yesterday afternoon. She said that it looked like a chemical spill down my arm (from the big splotch with drip splash patterns) and that I had reacted to it like you would to poison ivy. I couldn't think of what kind of chemical could have spilled on me, but I can see what she's talking about with the pattern. So, she gave me a prescription for some cream that would make my not-so-bad spots go away and then gave me some free samples of some stuff that would make my really bad spots go away. She said the Benydryl would help the itching but wouldn't make it go away so it was good that I came in. The cream will help it go away but it's going to itch like mad (it does) and it will discolor and scar my skin (like a burn) for a while. Anyway, it should be healed up in about two weeks (except the scars).
She said I could still go to yoga and water-fitness. She suggested that I tell everyone I have poison ivy because that's essentially the reaction I've had and it's not contagious. That way they won't freak out at the sight of me in the pool (it's not THAT bad).

A chemical spill? Wow, that sounds freaky. Glad to know that everything is okay. Phew.
I wonder if you will ever figure out what it was? Maybe someone is skeaking in your house at night and trying to poison you (hey, it makes for a good story!)
