It's Becoming An Addiction!
Wednesday, November 09, 2005
Last week we bought some used baby stuff off Craig's List. The first experience was a bit scary, but now I'm becoming addicted! I've been keeping an eye on the list and Friday I found a Graco infant car seat (with base) for 10 bucks! I know most people want the "travel system" type of strollers, but we went to babies R Us and found out that those things are not only bulky but HEAVY! I can't imagine having to load and unload it when the temperature is 110 degrees next summer. So, we decided we would get the stroller frame that fits Graco car seats and when baby outgrows the car seat, we would get a simple stroller that is light-weight and easy to haul around. And, it just so happens that I found a 10 dollar stroller frame on Craig's List! I'm going to see if it fits the Graco car seat. If so, then I will have an infant car seat and lightweight stroller for 20 bucks! Can't beat that!
I also found the Primo EuroBath for 20 bucks, but since it retails for 25, I offered the guy 10 dollars. I think he was insulted because I didn't hear back until just now. Apparently he didn't get another offer so it's mine if I still want it. This is the bathtub that I've been eyeballing. Baby will be born in February and I like that can hold lots of water so she won't feel like she's getting a sponge bath. Here's the swing/highchair that we bought the other night but wasn't assembled so I couldn't take a picture.

Oh, and we got a free play mat from the woman who sold us the Graco car seat. It doesn't have any dangling toys, but I can buy them.

I'll say it again..I am going to be a bad mother. I haven't researched anything at all about baby products. Maybe I will just buy the things that you say to buy. Because that baby bath looks so great.
The King is so into Craigslist (as you know), so I'll have to put him in charge of looking for deals.
You are totally right about those stroller/seat combos being heavy. My best friend has one and I hate that darn thing. She can't hardly carry her baby around in the carrier because that thing is too bulky and it feels like it has a chunk of metal in the bottom.
Keep me posted on the great things you are getting. I love to see the pictures! - At 10:38 AM, Erika said...

I'm with you on the lightweight stroller. And I'm with Isabel on the not knowing how to research. All I do is read the customer comments on Amazon??
