Parenting Book Frenzy!
Saturday, November 26, 2005
I finally decided it was time to buy some parenting books. I looked at amazon.com and there are tons and tons of parenting books that all cover the same topics. Normally the reviews are helpful, but in this case, each review seems to point to another book that was better and more helpful. It's a never-ending cycle. Now I'm completely confused and have no idea what to read.Hubby suggested I solicit suggestions, so I'm all ears!

The one book about parenting I would like to get my hands on is the Continuum Concept. This deals with attachment parenting and the link is below:

I personally don't really want to read much more than that. I really think parenting, mothering especially is instinctual and I wouldn't want to cloud my natural instincts with someone else's thoughts on what I should or should not be doing. But I am stubborn that way... - At 6:55 AM, Isabel said...

I usually love the reviews...but I know what you mean. Good luck!

Another book you may want to try is "Baby 411" I don't know the authors, but I checked it out of the library and it has lots of practical advice :)

I am starting to get nervous. I got online today and have placed holds on SO MANY baby books through my local library. I am curious what other books you ordered. Please help!
(and I'll let you know what books I find useful, once I get through them all!)
