Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

30 Week Update

This is the first belly picture I've taken since 26 weeks. It's been crazy and I like to take them when I'm alone in the house, which isn't all that often lately. It's not the best picture, but I wasn't in an especially good mood today. I woke up on the verge of tears and am still there.

We had a doctor's appointment this morning. Thankfully, it was with our regular doctor. I left the office in tears. We were asking the doctor about the episiotomy dilemma and some other childbirth questions. She basically said that childbirth does terrible things to your body and you'll never ever be the same. That is NOT what I needed to hear today. Those comments just made me cry harder and caused her to offer me anti-depressants. I assured her that I am usually more stable and today was just a hormonal day or didn't get enough sleep last night.

Next time we go to the doctor's office, we'll start the weekly non-stress test (fetal monitoring).

*Hug* Sorry about the stupid doctor... doesn't he/she know that horomones are what pregnancy is all about?! I cried the other night because "my nose is fat"... Chin up, you look WONDERFUL. :)

I can't believe your doctor would offer you antidepressants! Is it a male doctor or maybe a female doctor who doesn't have any kids? Regardless, don't listen to your doctor about the antidepressants. I felt like crying every other day last week but I know it's because of the hormones, too. You don't have anything to worry about, you look great!

By "episiotomy dilemma" do you mean whether or not to get one? Or is there something else I'm clueless about?

Yeah, I mean to get one or not. I guess there are a lot of choices and we just wanted more info. Some doctors do an episiotomy for every patient - even if they don't need it. I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to do it unless it was necessary.
