It's Official!

After practicing for about 6 weeks, we finally had the Rabbi come by and Kosher our kitchen! It only took us a few hours to do the whole thing, which is surprising because it took me days to rearrange the kitchen and move my stuff in after we got married. Anyway, now we officially have a kosher kitchen.
I know you're all wondering what our first meal was? Drum roll please...
Macaroni and Cheese! I know, it's not a proper meal. I should be eating better, but I decided to go to my prenatal water fitness class and the someone from Craig's List called and said she has a bunch of baby stuff that we can look at. It left me exactly 20 minutes to make dinner. Oh, and Hubby made banana bread while I was swimming!

This sounds very cool. But, what does it mean to have a "kosher kitchen"? I am intrigued. I would love to hear more.
Oh, and I LOVE mac & cheese. I don't think it's *that* bad for you. Don't worry about it. - At 11:34 AM, Isabel said...

I was so intrigued about this (and not at all familiar with the Jewish religion) that I read up on keeping a Kosher kitchen.
It sounds hard to do. But I am sure once you get in the habit of keeping things in their place, you get used to it.
I am funny and love to hear about people being so devoted to their beliefs. Good for you.
