My reusable grocery bags still haven't arrived. I ordered them a week ago and have been stalking the mailman every since. I logged on to check my order status and it still shows "pending fulfillment".I guess they have had a huge increase in business since they were featured on the Oprah show before Earth Day.
On a different note, we're about to take a trip to Santa Fe, NM to attend my sister's college graduation. I grew up near Santa Fe and always hated the whole hippie and "save the earth" mentality. I thought it was stupid and I really hated the adobe houses that were everywhere. But now, I'm starting to appreciate adobe houses. Last night I was reading about green building and found that some people use straw bales as insulation - especially with adobe houses.
I'm starting to appreciate what I use to refer to as "Santa Fe" who-who. I'm looking forward to our trip and maybe I'll visit some local shops while we're there. We're also going to introduce Lilly to my father and grandmother. They have never met. My Dad works for the Electric company. He and my uncle built my grandmother an adobe house a few years back. I'll have to pick his brain about green building because now I want to research putting solar panels on our roof and taping into the grid. More on that later...
