Okay, so my fabulous idea of lining our roof with solar panels and sitting back, watching the meter spin backwards isn't going to fly. As it turns out, we use about 100 kilowatt hours a day of electricity (blame it on the 4500 sqft house in Dallas - nearly the hottest place on Earth). In order to generate that much solar power, we would have to invest 200,000 dollars! Never mind that we don't even have enough roof space for all those panels.I'm very disappointed...
