Welcome to my life. As a newish stay-at-home mom, I'm trying to figure out what my life is about. I know I'm a wife and mother, but who am I? This blog is my forum to find out and my therapy...

Yippee! Six Hours of Sleep!

Lilly slept for six hours last night! Six hours!! Unfortunately, I took a nice 2-hour bath when I put her to bed then couldn't sleep soundly because I just knew she would wake up ay any moment. Still, this is progress! I hope it continues (although, 6 hour diapers are very smelly)!

What changed? I stopped eating the gas-producing veggies (asparagus and broccoli)that I ate those three days where she hardly slept. It could be totally unrelated, but I had to try something. Lilly seems to have a touch of colic, but she's such a good baby. Instead of crying non-stop like most uncomfortable babies, she just squirms and cries out in her sleep. Two nights ago Hubby was at his whit’s end because she cried out every minute (then instantly fell back asleep) almost the whole night and although I can sleep through it, he can't.

Congratulations! Isn't it funny how such a basic thing as sleep becomes a reason for celebration?

My Alex does what your Lilly does--cries out, grunts, and "talks" in his sleep. I finally had to learn to let him fuss it out, because he almost always drifts right back into a peaceful slumber. I just call it "fitful" sleeping.

I just found your site last week. I love your photos (you're very talented!) and enjoy reading about your adventures with Lilly.

What is up with all of our noisy babies?!
Logan did the same thing this morning. From 3-6 am all he did was grunt. I tried to tune him out, but it was pointless. I fed him at 6 & he continued to grunt until 8. I finally brought him into our bed & we had a great sleep for a couple of hours. It seems as though Logan is not as good about putting himself back to sleep like all of the other little ones. What a stinker!

Noah too.

He ate at 4, and then from 4:45 to almost 7, he "complained" loudly. Except when I would sit up to see if he was actually about to cry, at which point he would close his eyes and be silent for the next 5 minutes.
